Free electrical estimate template

A electrical estimate has to be specific enough that the customer knows what they are buying and you are not absorbing the difference later. This one starts with the scope lines the trade quotes on and leaves the pricing to you.

How to use it

What belongs on a electrical estimate

The lines above are the ones this trade quotes most often. Edit the wording, change the quantities, and delete anything that does not apply — nothing here is fixed.

Payment terms

All work performed to current code. Permit fees billed at cost. Labour warranted for one year. Licence number: ____________________.

Keep it consistent

Using the same estimate every time is worth more than it sounds. It is faster to fill in, easier for a customer to read twice, and it stops the arguments that start with "that is not what the last one said".

Questions people ask

Can I change the estimate line items?

The electrical lines are a starting point, not a form you have to fit into. Edit the wording, change the quantities, delete what does not apply and add your own — then download it.

How long should an estimate be valid for?

Put a date on it. Thirty days is common and it protects you when material prices move — an estimate with no expiry is one you can be held to next year.

Is anything I type here uploaded?

No. The PDF, the Word file and the spreadsheet are all built on your own machine, and the page keeps working with the network off. Nothing is sent anywhere and no email address is asked for.

Can I use this for my business?

Yes, including commercially, and you do not need to credit us. It is a sample for general use, not legal, tax or accounting advice — check your state's requirements before you rely on it.
